When to visit Chiapas

You can enjoy Chiapas’ wonders all year round. However, the best time to visit this state is probably between November and February. During these winter months, the climate is more pleasant, and since it is outside the rainy season, it is also more suitable for swimming in the many waterfalls and rivers. The climate depends a lot on the area. Temperatures can range between 30ºC maximum and 17ºC minimum. San Cristóbal de las Casas and Lagunas de Montebello have higher altitudes, so they can be colder. On the other hand, the Lacandon Jungle is much more humid and hot.

I had some very specific requests for my trip to Guanajuato. Rutopia discovered what I was looking for and made it all happen for me. From walking through the old tunnels, to visiting the Momias, getting some real vegetarian street food made for me on the spot, touring those twisty, winding, hilly streets, all the way up 7000 feet to see the old silver mines, and a chance to admire the murals painted during lockdown, they covered everything and checked in frequently.

In the end, we saw 3 beautiful cities, stayed in 3 unique and beautiful hotels, met the locals and had amazing experiences at various ruins and cenotes. Besides having the whole itinerary in advance, daily while on our trip they sent us the next day's itinerary to make sure we knew when and where we needed to be. It was so helpful. They helped us make the most out of the time we had in Mexico.
