Day 1 | Welcome to Oaxaca!
Upon arriving in the State of Oaxaca, you will have free time to visit the city's museums in the downtown area and explore the city's gastronomy.
Day 2 | Rural cooking workshop in Oaxaca
Discover the gastronomy of Oaxaca and enjoy a workshop with the region's top chefs, savoring the dishes they will prepare for you.
Day 3 | Visit Monte Albán, Arrazola, Cuilapan, Coyotepec
Today, your English-speaking guide will pick you up to join a group of travellers and explore historically significant places in Oaxaca for approximately 9 hours. Your first stop will be at the Monte Albán Archaeological Zone, located south of Oaxaca, surrounded by mountains and valleys. You will tour the North Platform and the Great Plaza, paying special attention to the Gallery of the Dancers and the ball game, among other impressive buildings.You will then continue to the community of Arrazola, a town known for its workshops dedicated to the carving and painting of Alebrijes, where you can witness their history and production process. After a 20-minute transfer, you will arrive in Cuilapam, where you will visit the 16th-century Ex Monastery of Santiago Cuilapam. Finally, after a break, your tour will conclude with a visit to Doña Rosa's Black Pottery Workshop in Coyotepec, where you will learn about its history and the production process of this famous product. Return to Oaxaca.
Day 4 | A Day of Oaxaca’s Treasures
Today you will join other travellers and your English-speaking guide on tour (approximately 8 hours) designed with a mix of archaeology, handicrafts and nature; you will start the tour 10 km from Oaxaca City after a 20-minute transfer. Your first stop will be in Santa Maria del Tule to see the ancient Tule Tree, a Montezuma cypress approximately two thousand years old and whose trunk is known to be the strongest in the world. From there, you will be transferred for approximately one and a half hours to the Hierve el Agua Park, unique for its rock formations that resemble waterfalls; here, you can explore the area and bathe in the mineral-rich cold water springs while enjoying the panoramic view of the surrounding mountain scenery. You will then descend to the Mitla Archaeological Zone to appreciate and learn about the geometries in the decorative walls. After a 30-minute break, you will head to Teotitlán del Valle, where you will visit the House of some wool weavers to learn about the process of spinning, weaving and colouring the wool. Finally, you will go to the Mezcal Palenque, where you will have the opportunity to taste the different types of mezcal and learn about the elaboration process. After a full day of activities, you will return to Oaxaca City.
Day 5 | Enjoy the mountains and forest in San José del Pacífico
Enjoy a stay surrounded by forests, mountains, and clouds at your fingertips in San José del Pacífico, a community that you will love for its natural beauty.
Day 6 | Explore the wildlife of San José del Pacífico
Enjoy a hike with incredible landscapes between mountains and trails that will allow you to learn about the flora and fauna surrounding the town of San José del Pacífico.
Day 7 | Welcome to the Coast of Oaxaca!
Transfer from San José del Pacífico to Huatulco.
Day 8 | Magic Waterfalls Adventure
You will explore the secrets of the Oaxacan jungle in the Sierra Madre del Sur with a tour of its waterfalls, spend time with local people, and enjoy traditional cuisine.
Day 9 | Sea Turtles monitoring
Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of sea turtles as you witness their remarkable nesting behavior under the shimmering moonlight. By participating in this night monitoring activity, you directly contribute to the conservation of sea turtles and their nesting habitats. After this tour, you will enjoy a magical bioluminescence experience.
Day 10 | Transfer to Huatulco International Airport
You will be transferred from the Tulum Hotel Zone to Cancún International Airport.
