Day 1 | Welcome to Mexico City!
Welcome to Mexico City! Upon your arrival, a transport will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel. Once you've settled in, feel free to prepare your belongings, take a stroll around the area, and most importantly, rest up to start your trip with all the energy you'll need.
Day 2 | Treasures of the capital: Historic Center, Anthropology and Chapultepec Forest
Your private transportation will take you to the Historic Center of Mexico City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where your local guide will lead a 4-hour walking tour. You'll explore landmarks like the Metropolitan Cathedral, Aztec ruins, Palace of Fine Arts, and Postal Palace, while sampling traditional Mexican food at local stalls and restaurants. Afterward, enjoy a 2.5-hour guided tour of a major museum, learning about Mexico's pre-Hispanic cultures and viewing significant artifacts such as the Aztec Calendar and Olmec Colossal Head. The tour concludes with a walk through Chapultepec Forest before returning to your accommodation.
Day 3 | Bike through Teotihuacán, “The city of the Gods”
Prepare yourself for a visit to the remarkable archaeological site of Teotihuacán. Early in the morning, your private transportation will take you from Mexico City to the Teotihuacán Valley, where a guide will lead you through the "City of the Gods." You'll explore the "Calzada de Los Muertos," the Temple of the Feathered Serpent and the Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. The tour continues with a 10 km bicycle ride along the Route of the Murals, through an ancient natural observatory, and offers stunning views of Teotihuacán. You'll also visit a local workshop to taste products made from tuna, nopal, and xoconostle, and learn about obsidian craftsmanship. The day ends with a local lunch before heading to the historic city of Puebla, approximately 2 hours away.
Day 4 | Cholula and Talavera tour
Your transportation and local guide will take you on a tour of approximately 6 hours to discover the archaeological zone of Cholula, home to the largest pyramid in Mesoamerica. Experts claim that it is even larger than the pyramid of Giza. During the tour, you will visit the museum and the altar courtyard. Upon reaching the summit, you can admire the Church of Remedies, built by the Spaniards during the conquest.
You will continue this tour with a visit to the town of Tonantzintla, where you can appreciate its church, a 16th-century temple that showcases the Baroque art that flourished in New Spain. Next, you will explore another church, San Francisco Acatepec, distinguished by its facade adorned with Talavera tile mosaics combined with red bricks. To conclude the tour, you will visit the Talavera de la Reyna factory, where you will have the opportunity to tour the factory and witness the work of the artisans up close. You can appreciate the different stages of the production process, from molding and decorating to glazing and firing in traditional wood-fired kilns. After the visit, you will return to your hotel.
Day 5 | Transfer from Puebla to Oaxaca
Time to say goodbye to the great city of Puebla and head to Oaxaca, another captivating destination in Mexico. Your transportation will take you to your hotel, providing you with an opportunity to get organized, explore the surroundings, and prepare for the next leg of your adventure.
Day 6 | Bike tour through the streets of Oaxaca
Embark on a vibrant journey through the colorful streets of Oaxaca with our street art bike tour. Pedal your way through the historic center, where striking murals and graffiti art adorn the walls, each telling a story of culture, history, and social activism. Led by knowledgeable guides, you'll discover hidden gems and iconic pieces by local and international artists, gaining insight into the city's thriving street art scene.
Day 7 | A Day of Nature, Adventure, and Cultural Discovery
Embark on an adventure through the lush landscapes of the Ixtepeji forest, nestled in the heart of Oaxaca. Begin your day with a scenic hike through verdant trails, where towering trees and cascading waterfalls await. Immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of nature as you traverse through dense foliage, spotting native wildlife and vibrant bird species along the way. End your journey with a visit to a local community, where you can learn about traditional crafts and cultural heritage, immersing yourself in the rich tapestry of life in the Ixtepeji forest.
Day 8 | Goodbye Oaxaca!
Your driver will transport you from your hotel to Oaxaca International Airport. We recommend scheduling flights after 1:00 pm for a smooth departure.
