Day 1 | Welcome to Chiapas
Welcome to Mexico! Upon arrival at Tuxtla Gutiérrez Airport, you'll be greeted by a private driver and transferred to your hotel in the lovely city center of San Cristóbal de las Casas. Explore the narrow, cobblestone streets of the traditional neighborhoods and admire the houses painted in bright colors that house quaint shops and markets.
Day 2 | Visit to San Juan Chamula and Zinacantán indigenous towns
You will be picked up at the hotel to visit two indigenous villages in the highlands of Chiapas. Your day of cultural immersion will firstly start at San Juan Chamula, a Tzotzil Community of pre-Hispanic origin that is still strongly connected to its traditional customs. Secondly, you will be taken to San Lorenzo Zinacantán, “bats' place” which is also a Tzotzil village.
Day 3 | Sumidero Canyon Natural Wonder and The Magic City of Chiapa de Corzo
After having breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up by your driver. Then, you will head towards the islet of Cahuaré, an embarkation point near Chiapa de Corzo, where you will embark on a motorboat with other travelers to navigate along the breathtaking Sumidero Canyon. Later, your visit will continue to the charming “Magical Town” of Chiapa de Corzo, where you will have free time to have lunch (not included) and visit the beautiful downtown area where you can taste the ancestral Mayan beverage “Pozol con cacao”.
Day 4 | Agua azul & Misol-Ha's waterfalls with Palenque Archaeological Site
Very early in the morning, your group transportation will take you to the town of Palenque. Later, you will visit the Agua Azul waterfalls. The tour will conclude with a visit to the Misol-Ha waterfall, which is approximately 35 meters high.
Day 5 | Palenque Archaeological Site and Roberto Barrios Waterfall
Today, alongside a group of travelers and your guide, you will embark on a 9-hour adventure in Chiapas. Begin by exploring the Archaeological Zone of Palenque, an ancient Mayan city that ranks among the world's most significant archaeological sites. Delve into hidden jungle trails, uncovering its history, myths, rituals, and beliefs while visiting iconic structures like the Temple of the Skull and the Temple of the Inscriptions, which houses the tomb of King Pakal. Next, journey to the Roberto Barrios waterfalls, a natural paradise nestled in the Chiapas jungle. Here, you can marvel at the cascading falls, swim in crystal-clear natural pools, and fully immerse yourself in this serene environment, especially vibrant during the dry season (March to July). After this enriching experience, enjoy free time for lunch before returning to Palenque.
Day 6 | Immerse yourself in the ancient Mayan Cities Yaxchilán and Bonampak
You will get to the Chól Community in Frontera Corozal to take a motorboat that will take you along the Usumacinta River to Yaxchilán (place of green stones). After, you will continue to the second archaeological site of the day: Bonampak, located in the Lacandon jungle.
Day 7 | See you later, Chiapas
Your private transportation will take you to Villahermosa Airport.
