In addition to managing the experiences and accommodation in your itinerary, we can also arrange public transportation (intercity buses), add car rentals for independent travel, or provide private or shared transfers with local drivers, depending on your preference.
Travelers are responsible for managing international flights since, in this case, we cannot offer better rates than those provided by airlines.
If that's what you desire, we can organize a circuit where the guide accompanies your group throughout the entire journey. Alternatively, the trip can be designed with different local guides only for experiences in the visited destinations. For tours, guides can be private or shared, depending on your preference.
It depends on what is included in your trip, as mentioned in your itinerary. You can verify the inclusions with your Travel Specialist. Generally, what is not included is the international flight, extra expenses for purchases or meals not included in your itinerary, travel insurance, entry visa fees, tips, excess baggage, and any other service not specified in your itinerary proposal.
It greatly depends on the region you are visiting, as temperatures can vary from very hot to very cool. However, don't worry. In the Travel Book that we share with you weeks before your trip, you will find recommendations for the type of footwear and clothing recommended for each destination and activity included in your itinerary.
Few places accept foreign currency, so it is recommended to carry cash, preferably in small bills and in the local currency (Mexican pesos). Many destinations do not have ATMs, so travelers are advised to prepare and withdraw money or exchange currency at a brokerage house before starting the journey. You can ask your Travel Specialist for more details about this.

2. A Rutopía Travel Specialist will contact you to begin designing your trip based on the interests you share in the request.
3. The Specialist will send you a quoted travel proposal with all the details of inclusions and exclusions, and they will adjust details if necessary.
4. When you are ready to book, the specialist will send you a link to pay by credit card or provide details for national or international bank transfer.
*A 30% deposit of the total trip amount (or as specified by the Specialist) is required, and no reservation is considered committed until this deposit is made. This option is valid up to 2 months before the travel dates. The remaining amount must be paid at least 20 business days before the departure date; otherwise, it will be considered a voluntary cancellation, incurring a cancellation fee.
We recommend reservations to be finalized at least two weeks in advance, although we highly recommend planning your trip at least 5 weeks in advance.
If you wish to make changes to your trip after booking, please notify your Travel Specialist in writing so they can review the possibility of these changes, especially due to service availability. We reserve the right to charge a fee for changes after the invoice is received.
If a trip is canceled more than 31 days before the start date:
Cancellation fees, surcharges, or non-refundable deposits charged to Rutopía by individual hotels, airlines, or other third parties will be applied.
The rest of any deposit paid to Rutopía will be refunded minus a service fee, which the Specialist will communicate as applicable.
If a trip is canceled between 30 and 16 days before the start date:
Cancellation fees, surcharges, or non-refundable deposits charged to Rutopía by individual hotels, airlines, or other third parties will be applied.
A cancellation fee of 25% of the total trip cost will be charged.
The rest of any deposit paid to Rutopía will be refunded minus a service fee, which the Specialist will communicate as applicable.
If a trip is canceled within the 15 days before the arrival date:
Cancellation fees, surcharges, or non-refundable deposits charged to Rutopía by individual hotels, airlines, or other third parties will be applied.
A cancellation fee of 50% of the total trip cost will be charged.
The rest of any deposit paid to Rutopía will be refunded minus a service fee, which the Specialist will communicate as applicable.

It is the traveler's responsibility to ensure they have valid medical insurance during their trip. We can recommend several companies that can offer protection for your journey.
In most destinations, there is a first aid kit with basic medications. Additionally, we always recommend carrying a basic kit with your preferred medicines in case a minor illness or discomfort occurs during your trip. If something more serious were to happen, our hosts follow a protocol to take you to the nearest medical center, regardless of cost or conditions. These medical centers and travel times are identified in each destination.
A significant portion of those traveling through Rutopía are solo female travelers! They choose us precisely because we provide them with security. All our destinations are carefully selected, with one of our criteria being that they are places where a traveler, whether male or female, can walk safely during the day. While we cannot guarantee that an incident will never occur, we have established guidelines to ensure a safe experience from start to finish.
