It is a universal true that there are many ways to travel. As well as there are infinite tourist destinations and places to visit. There are as many possibilities as there are travelers and at Rutopía we like to fulfill everyone’s wishes.

Although many people look for places where they can have fun, there are those who prefer traveling to rest and take a break from the daily routine. For them, travel is a way to find peace and serenity. A small moment in nature that allows them to reconcile with themselves and with their daily troubles.

That said, for all those who are looking to connect and feel calm, we have chosen five places in Mexico to get away from the hustle and bustle, and find the tranquillity you need to start the year in the right way.

Do you want a quiet vacation? At Rutopía we can organize it for you…

 Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, Mérida

This is a site known for its natural beauty. There is so much to see here that in 1987 this reserve was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Here live a large number of animal and plant species that are unique in the region of Yucatan. In addition, its different ecosystems contribute to the conservation of life in this region. This is thanks to the carbon reservoirs found in the mangroves.

Visitors can enjoy multiple activities such as hiking, swimming and kayaking. They will also be able to experience a new way of connecting with nature, as well as with themselves.

 Nahá Nature Reserve, Chiapas.

Continuing with the Natural Reserves, Nahá is a lagoon located in the town of Ocosingo in Chiapas. It was declared a Protected Area in 1998.

This place is part of the Lacandon jungle, which allows it to possess an exotic variety of flora and fauna.

With all this, here you can enjoy a tour made to experience the outdoors and the sounds of the jungle. You can even be accompanied by a Lacandon guide who explains everything about the species that appear along the way.

Ventanilla Lagoon, Oaxaca.

The Ventanilla Lagoon is surrounded by mangrove swamps that are home to an extensive amount of wildlife. This torpical terrain gives us the possibility to walk among the dense nature, between green landscapes, capables of calming the most anxious person.

However, this has not always been the case, in 1997 two hurricanes affected the region. Fortunately, thanks to the organization and love of the locals, the site survived. The community joined forces to safeguard the natural wealth that surrounds them.

 Balandra, Baja California Sur

Balandra Beach is in the Pacific Ocean, famous for its rock formations and privacy. It is located less than an hour’s drive from La Paz in Baja California Sur and it´s a perfect destination for those who enjoy the sea and beautiful sunsets on the beach.

In addition, thanks to its calm waters, in this area you can swim and even sail. In fact, if you are lucky, you can observe colonies of sea lions and snorkel in the reefs of the place.

Teotihuacan, México City

Another way to find peace is through the roots. And there is no better way to do that than climbing to the highest point of the Pyramid of the Sun in Teotihuacan.

The Archaeological Zone of Teotihuacan is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

Thousands of tourists may visit it throughout the year, and maybe we can’t find the silence we need here, but if we walk among the different altars and enjoy the sunset, inner peace is guaranteed.
