Day 1 | Welcome to the Yucatán Peninsula
Upon arrival, you'll pick up your rental car to accompany you on your adventure. After checking in at your hotel, take some time to settle in and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
Day 2 | Explore the unknown cenotes by bicycle
Your adventure begins in Chemuyil, a small village. Your local guide will provide you with a bicycle for a 5-hour tour through the charming village, visiting the three types of cenotes. Each cenote offers the opportunity to swim in refreshing waters and immerse yourself in the surrounding natural beauty. Besides, this local project is working on preserving the natural heritage of the community and you can be part of this!
Continuing the itinerary, you'll explore Tulum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its archaeological significance. Guided by a local expert, you'll learn about the ruins' role in Mayan trade and culture, marvel at the diverse buildings and murals, including El Castillo, and enjoy panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea from the cliffside location. Access "Playa Ruinas" from the archaeological site and take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters.
Day 3 | Fleet in the Biosphere Reserve of Muyil Sian Ka’an
Embark on a journey to the Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve, known as the "place where the sky is born" in Mayan. Upon arriving at the Muyil community center, enjoy a typical breakfast before joining a group led by your local guide. This community-based ecotourism cooperative emphasizes ecosystem conservation and offers unique experiences rooted in responsible tourism principles. Begin your adventure with a visit to the lesser-known Muyil archaeological site, reached via an interpretative jungle trail. Next, stroll to the shores of Chunyaxché lagoon, admired for its stunning turquoise waters, where you'll board a small boat to navigate through crystal-clear channels flanked by mangroves. Following a tranquil river float, immersed in the sights and sounds of nature, return to the community center along a scenic trail. Continuing your adventure, you'll venture to a mayan community for an immersive 2-hour experience. Led by a local guide, you'll gain insight into the intricate corn production process, vital to Maya culture. From sustainable milpas to firsthand accounts of agricultural challenges, conclude your trip by discovering the vital role of corn in sustaining community livelihoods. Immerse yourself in the culinary traditions of the community as you partake in the entire cooking process, from harvesting fresh garden ingredients to preparing traditional dishes such as cochinita pibil alongside community members. Following this immersive culinary experience, venture to the Punta Laguna reserve, a breathtaking natural haven spanning approximately 5500 hectares and managed by a Mayan cooperative. Accompanied by your guide, navigate through the lush jungle landscapes in search of elusive spider monkeys and howler monkeys, serenaded by their echoing calls.
