Day 1 | Welcome to Valladolid!
you'll meet the driver who will accompany you for the first 8 days of your itinerary. He will drive you first to Valladolid, where you'll start your trip.
Day 2 | Journey Through Ancient Ruins, Sacred Cenotes, and Yucatán Flavors in a Mayan Community
Your guide will take you to explore the archaeological site of Ek Balam. Then, you'll visit the Xcanahaltun Cenote, which allowed the ancient Maya to stock up on water as they developed and settled in the surroundings of the Dzalbay village. After the adventure, you will participate in a Yucatecan gastronomy workshop led by a Mayan family, which includes hands-on experience in the preparation of tortillas and a traditional dish from the region.
Day 3 | From Valladolid to Mérida: Pit Stop at Chichen Itzá and Yokdzonot Cenote
Embark on a journey to explore the archaeological site of Chichén Itzá, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Then, you will visit the Mayan cenote of Yokdzonot. This cenote, considered sacred by the Mayan culture, was transformed into an ecological tourist site by a group of women from the rural community of Yokdzonot in 2005.
Day 4 | Uxmal Thrills & Chocolate Delights: Mérida to Campeche Getaway
Visit the archaeological site of Uxmal, where you will take a tour through the history of this majestic place, visiting some of its most emblematic buildings. Afterwards, you will visit the Chocolate Museum, which traces the history of cocoa. In addition, you can explore the botanical garden with cocoa trees.
Day 5 | Walking tour through the Walled City of Campeche
Discover the historic center of San Francisco de Campeche, one of Mexico's World Heritage cities. You will visit the pier, the Puerta de Tierra, the reconstructed Puerta de Mar, a museum, and three vibrant neighborhoods. Experience the history of pirate attacks, English conquest attempts, and Spanish colonization.
Day 6 | Welcome to Xpujil
You will visit the archaeological site of Calakmul, an impressive city in the middle of the jungle that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 7 | Bacalar Awaits: Transfer from Xpujil and Free Day
Today, you will have a kayaking experience on the Bacalar Lagoon, lasting approximately 4 hours. Accompanied by your guide and a group of travellers, you will start early, heading towards the Pirates' Canal. As you observe the starry sky, you might be lucky enough to see a shooting star. Crossing the Pirates' Canal, you will be able to witness the sunrise over Bacalar, then proceed to Mariscal Lagoon. There, you will have time to immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the mangroves and closely observe the local flora and fauna. To conclude the experience, you will enjoy a breakfast that includes fresh bread, local fruits, and coffee. Finally, you will return to the starting point, thus concluding the experience.
Day 8 | Transfer from Bacalar to Tulum
This will be your first free day in Tulum. Unsure of where to begin? Here are our top recommendations: Immerse yourself in the diverse culinary scene at Tulum's myriad restaurants; bask in the sun on beaches like Playa Paraíso; embark on an adventure at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve; dive or snorkel in cenotes; or relax at the yoga and wellness retreats offered at various centers in Tulum.
Day 9 | Snorkeling Adventure in Akumal Bay
Today, your local guide will pick you up to join a group of travelers and take you to Akumal, one of the favorite destinations in the Caribbean Sea and the place where you will practice snorkeling for approximately one hour. First, you will board a boat to move away from the coast for about two minutes. Here, you will visit Akumal Bay, a Marine Species Protection Refuge Area decreed by CONANP since 2016, where you can explore depths ranging from 4 to 35 meters with snorkeling equipment and the necessary safety to swim and enjoy turtle watching. Several species visit Mexican beaches, such as the green turtle (Chelonia mydas), the loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta), and the hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata). You must follow the regulations and instructions to avoid disturbing or harming the turtles and be able to admire them in their full splendor.
Day 10 | Goodbye Yucatán
Transfer from Tulum to Cancún International Airport.
