Day 1 | Welcome to Campeche!
Arrive in Mérida, rent a car, and transfer to Campeche. Explore the charming colonial city of Campeche during your free time. Walk through historic streets, visit forts, and savor the city's exquisite gastronomy, blending European, Caribbean, and Maya influences. Enjoy the rich naval history, baroque architecture, and picturesque sunset views on quiet beaches.
Day 2 | Walking tour through the walled city of Campeche
Discover San Francisco de Campeche's UNESCO-listed historic center with an English-speaking guide. Explore its colorful colonial facades, walls, pier, Puerta de Tierra, Puerta de Mar, a museum, and three distinct neighborhoods. Gain insights into the city's history, from pirate attacks to Spanish colonization, reflecting a unique cultural blend in its daily life.
Day 3 | Dolphin Watching in Isla Aguada
Embark on an adventure to discover the Magical Town of Isla Aguada, a destination located in the heart of the Laguna de Términos Flora and Fauna Protection Area. On this approximately 8-hour tour, you will have the opportunity to witness the spectacle of bottlenose dolphins in their natural environment. Accompanied by your certified guide, you will be able to contemplate these creatures in their natural habitat. In addition to the dolphins, you will also visit the fascinating Bird Island, where you will be able to admire a great variety of marine birds in their natural habitat. During the tour, you can enjoy the waters of the beaches of Isla Aguada, where you can relax on the sandy beaches and dive into the refreshing waters.
Day 4 | A Visit to Edzná and Turtle Bay
Today, transportation will take you along with your local guide on a tour of approximately 8 hours. You will leave the city of Campeche to visit the archaeological site of Edzná, which holds great cultural significance and a mix of architectural styles, being one of the major Classic capitals from where the Mayans moved to Chichen Itza. It was inhabited for over 2000 years and is currently well-preserved and enjoyable. You will then continue to Turtle Bay at Punta Xen, where you can enjoy the beach, known for being a nesting site for turtles. You will have time for lunch at one of the local restaurants (not included). At the end of the tour, transportation will take you back to your hotel.
Day 5 | Adiós Campeche
Transfer to Mérida International Airport.
