In this tour you will visit the municipality of Teuchitlán-Guachimontones, known mainly for its archaeological zone as well as its gastronomy along the Presa de la Vega walkway, you will visit the Casa de la Cultura de Teuchitlán where there is an archaeological museum with clay pieces from various shaft tombs found around the volcano. Your next stop will be the archaeological zone of Guachimontones, discovered in the 70’s by the American archaeologist Phil Weingard, which is composed of three important round and stepped pyramidal structures, almost unique in the Mesoamerican tradition, as well as several patios that integrate a ball game, and some terraces and buildings, it is believed that this ceremonial site was dedicated to the wind god Ehecatl. Finally, you will visit the interesting Interpretative Museum where you can appreciate different areas of research and restoration of pieces and foundations found in shaft tombs in the area.
