Mexico is a country full of wonderful places, known for its culture, gastronomy, helpful people, and incredible landscapes. That is why on your next visit to Mexico, you must explore these unique places.

Las Coloradas

Located in Río Lagartos, Yucatán, it is a lagoon with pink waters, due to the microorganisms that form in salt-saturated waters. It is part of the salt company “Sal Sol,” a marvelous landscape you can’t miss for taking spectacular photos.

Underwater Museum of Art (MUSA)

Located in the Western Costa Marine Park of Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, with 16 galleries to be visited through diving, it promotes the care of the marine ecosystem as well as demonstrating the relationship between art and science.

Marietas Islands

Located in the State of Nayarit, we find a volcanic archipelago composed mainly of two islands and two islets. The iconic Hidden Beach, characterized by a crater, allows viewing the sky and the crystal-clear waters of the Pacific Ocean.

Lagoon of Seven Colors

In the magical town of Bacalar, located in Quintana Roo, there is a lagoon where, depending on the time and depth, you can see different shades of blue and green in its waters, an unmissable visual wonder. You can also enjoy various activities such as swimming, snorkeling, and boat rides.

Edward James Sculptural Garden, Las Pozas

The garden located in Xilitla, San Luis Potosí, displays concrete sculptures blended with nature, creating a more surreal atmosphere in Mexico. Structures such as columns, spiral staircases, doors, arches, and pavilions invite you to become part of a magical world.

Cave of the Swallows

In Aquismón, San Luis Potosí, lies the most impressive natural vault in Mexico, 60 meters in diameter; it descends to a depth of 512 meters, of which 376 meters are vertical drops. You can rappel down into the abyss.

Copper Canyon

Located in Chihuahua, composed of a series of 20 canyons, its name comes from the green/copper hues of its walls. The area preserves the traditions of the Tarahumara people. You can reach this place by various means of transportation to admire its wonderful landscapes and engage in different activities to enjoy the area.

Basaltic Prisms

Located in Huasca de Ocampo, Hidalgo, the natural hexagonal columns surrounded by waterfalls create a unique landscape in the world. The prisms were formed by the cooling of lava from a volcanic eruption millions of years ago. Visit the park where they are located and enjoy more activities to complete this special visit.

Valley of the Overlapping Stones

In Zacatlán, Puebla, there is a valley with rock formations between 10 and 20 meters tall. What makes these rocks distinctive is that you can let your imagination run wild, finding animals, dragons, and human faces in them.

Firefly Sanctuary

In Nanacamilpa, Tlaxcala, lies the firefly sanctuary, where you can stay overnight or camp to observe these luminous insects. Guided tours are available. The ideal season to visit this place is from June to August.

Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies

Located in Cholula, Puebla, it is an important reference in the country’s culture and history, as it holds the remains of the Cholulteca settlement. Here is the largest pyramid base in the world. The Spaniards ordered the church to be built on its remains, leaving evidence of the conquest and evangelization of the indigenous people 500 years ago.

Lagoon of the Nevado de Toluca

In Toluca, State of Mexico, is the volcano “Nevado de Toluca,” more than 4,600 meters above sea level, where you will find a lagoon reachable by hiking—an experience you cannot miss. Additionally, in winter you can see the frozen lagoon and witness an incredible snow-covered landscape.

Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl

Mexico’s most famous volcanoes are located in the state of Puebla. Their fame comes from a love legend portraying Popocatépetl as a kneeling man and Iztaccíhuatl as the sleeping woman. You can enjoy countless activities in the national park bearing their names, from staying in a cabin, camping, hiking the volcanoes, and attempting to reach the summit, among other activities—a Mexican icon you cannot miss.
