We loved the possibility of getting to know this beautiful community. Know their kitchens, their table, listen to them, be able to ask them a thousand questions, share the food. We loved having a variety of places and families to meet, allowed us to expand our perception of the place and imagine how they live daily.
We were very excited about how they opened their hearts and with their simplicity shared their questions, their food, their fire pit.
Lety added a lot, we felt very accompanied by her and quiet that she took care of everything. A love with our two children. We feel like we will take this place and this community forever in our hearts.
We talk about it personally but the ultimate gratitude for opening the doors of your intimacy, for being so kind and attentive and cooking and caring for us with so much love.
Food: we lacked fresher food (we understand that there is difficult to get) but after 3 days we miss the fruits and some fresh vegetables. Very rich food although we feel an excess of tortillas and doughs, stomach a little heavy. We also understand that it is the typical food and what they have but we comment on it in a constructive spirit.
Guides and other women: super friendly and committed. A pleasure in the warmth of your home and your table. We believe it would add that they have more knowledge of Mixtec culture (where they lived, how they lived, relationship with other tribes)
Walks: very good walks. Apoala’s is beautiful, the walk through The Warehouse too and the conversation as we learned to work the palm felt a special moment to share with the community.
Mixtec class: it felt a bit “filled” with a list of words before maybe it could be deleted and use that time for a longer walk through the village for example.
The follow-up for the offer of the service, the proposal and confirmation of the trip, as well as the accompaniment thereof was exceptional. Undoubtedly it is the added value of Rutupia’s promise of value. I congratulate you on the excellent service they provide, the creativity and the concern to publicize these corners that we would hardly have access to them.
Don Fulgencio has a huge gift as a host, we were very fortunate. He made the journey very pleasant and entertaining. We loved living with him and everyone else where he took us. More than excellent our experience, we were more than delighted !! A thousand thanks Don Fulgencio and Rutopia for everything !!
We are very grateful to Ismael, Don Chucho, Jorge, Fernando and Chucho for joining us during the tour. Ismael was very attentive to us all the time. He was explaining to us the types of trees, animals, traditions and culture. We really enjoyed the company and it was without a doubt a unique and unforgettable experience. We were very happy, we would totally recommend it and I would even repeat it.
We all loved the traditional Oaxacan mole. It is certainly not the same to eat it in a restaurant than to taste the homemade seasoning of a local family. We had the opportunity to talk with the family, and even meet Don Chucho’s granddaughters. His wife accompanied us to buy cheese with a lady from the village and we bought some accessories from Ismael’s sister. We were also very grateful that they allowed us to leave our dog at home so we could go horseback riding. The warmth of Ismael and his family was what we enjoyed the most, in addition to the hot springs and the clay bath.
